IT'S COLD TODAY

Actually, cold is an understatement. It is freezing and I don't feel like dealing with morons today.

Today's rain brought out customers that are stubborn and stupid. Before I get into this customer, take the following advice from me.

In certain situations, you should tone down your stubbornness and put your pride to the side, especially in public because you will come off as a moron and you will have an audience whether you like it or not.

This lady isn't even my customer but she arrived to the laundromat with TWO shopping carts and each shopping cart had one bag of laundry in it. She could have easily put both bags in one but she said "one cart is heavy to cart it all.".... Instead she was pushing one cart and pulling the other -shakes head-.

She puts her laundry in the washer and then starts to add the quarter. After every quarter, she would hit the machine so the washer could accept the quarter. After four "bangs", I left the front to go to the back and told her to stop because she is damaging the washer and that she can use the coin return and try again. I stood there for two seconds and she said "what, now you are going to stand and watch me?" and I said "no, but I figured you might need help." She snapped back "I don't." Like a fuckin moron, she stood in front of the washer trying to figure out where the coin return button is. One lady shook her head at me for her and mouthed "retard". The only lady that started chit chatting with her about the laundromat was that crazy waitress lady from last Thursday that bitched at me for the baby carriage. All I have to say is this: Crazy waitress lady, meet crazy moron. Now shake hands.

Other than that, the day has been relatively quiet. Outside of the laundromat, I had a political convo with someone and they thought I attacked them by making a general comment. In the end, I just apologized (it was sincere) to be the bigger person and just end the suppose attack. Lesson in life : Never touch politics because there are people out there that are defensive and in denial while others are just sensitive about their views and logic behind their reason. Be the bigger person and just don't touch the subject and if you do, end the debate with an apology.

NUMBER 5

READ THE DAMN SIGNS!!!!!! FOR THE LOVE OF KITTENS READ THE SIGNS!!!! THEY ARE THERE FOR A REASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Customer comes barging in with a couple of items and a bottle of Tide.

ME: we are closed. We are closed. HELLO! WE ARE CLOSED!
Cust: Since when?
Me: Since this morning. We are doing maintenance.
Cust: But I need to wash my stuff.
Me: We are closed.
Cust: You don't have any signs up.

-I leave from behind the counter and I start counting the signs-

Me: Three in the front and eight spread around the laundromat in English and in Spanish. There is also one on the door double ended so you read it when you come in and go out.
Cust: omg

Customer leaves after his "omg". A customer that was picking up, was cracking up when I was counting the signs for him. OPEN YOUR EYES FOOL!!!!!!!

*POINT AND LAUGH*

Rarely do I feel sympathy for those who "violate" and "disrespect" my machines/property. One of my customers decides to bang/punch my washer and kick it so it could accept the quarters but I got my satisfaction in scaring her. Not only does she like hitting other peoples property but she also has music blasted in her ears... and we all know what that means... miscommunication. First, she couldn't hear me say "I don't have any quarters here" and then she didn't hear me say "don't bang the machine". As a matter of fact, I felt like choking her tiny little neck with the wire from her headphones but I don't feel like going to prison before my vacation. So, I stormed out from behind the counter and stomped to her. She was in her own little world because when I started talking loud (not yelling), she turned and got scared. Inside, I was laughing. Outside, I was yelling. She got so startled that she gave me the quarters to put in the machine. Her hands were even shaking. Did I feel bad? Of course not! I feel bad for me because if that machine breaks down then -I- have to fix it. Not her, not the Chinese dude next door, but me. M. E.

My belief is that she isn't a bright one or she has been sheltered throughout her life. Then again, I am not an all mighty dude with power to judge. One day an Arabic male approached her asking her where she lives and if she is single. What her mom's name is and if she is arranged for a marriage. He kept complimenting her on her folding and touching her. When he left, I asked if they were related or something (didn't want to seem too nosey) and she said "No"... YOU MORON, WHY GIVE OUT YOUR NAME, WHERE YOU LIVE, AND FAMILY INFO!? YOU ARE IN YOUR TEENS AND HE IS IN HIS 40S... I should have hit her over the head with a Tide bottle. Maybe that action would knock some common sense into her.

On a side note, I really do hate it when people fold their tickets into small little squares. Really do...
